Thirty-one years of Sunny Bear
Sunny Bear has been part of Massachusetts early childhood for three decades, from Roslindale and Dedham to Southboro, West Roxbury, and our home now in Jamaica Plain. We've grown with Greater Boston families the whole way.
Our teachers
Many of our teachers have been with Sunny Bear for 15 to 20 years. That means the same familiar faces at drop-off, year after year, for your child and for you.
They speak Spanish and English with the children every day.
Play, stories, and walks to the park
We don’t have a yard of our own, so the neighborhood is our playground. Teachers take the children on walks to nearby parks and playgrounds whenever the weather allows.
Inside, most of the learning happens through play: blocks, puzzles, paint, music, and lots of books. We’re slowly bringing in ELM, a free early-learning curriculum built around guided play, to help our teachers plan for each age.

A note from Margaret
I earned my doctorate in engineering and worked as an engineer, but after my three boys were born I wanted to be close to them. So in 1995 I followed my dream and opened a daycare. Thirty years later, I still love running this school and spending my days with the children. Many of our teachers have been with me 15 to 20 years, and they care for your children the way I'd want mine cared for.

Open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm
177 Green St. Jamaica Plain, near the Green Street stop on the Orange Line. An easy trip from Forest Hills, Jackson Square, Roslindale, and West Roxbury.
